Nadezhda Reach Out to Dupree
Short-handed Nadezhda have turned to Candice Dupree to help ease their injury crisis and continue their assault on landing a spot in the EuroLeague Women play-offs.
The USA national team forward is expected to debut for the Orenburg club at Tango Bourges on Wednesday night in a crunch Group B encounter.
Candice will suit up for her second Russian team in the competition, having played with distinction for Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje during 2012 and 2013.
Prior to that, she played in EuroLeague Women with Good Angels Kosice and Wisla Can-Pack, spending two years at each club.
Last season Dupree played in the Russian League and EuroCup Women with Dynamo Kursk.
Nadezhda were searching for re-enforcements after losing American forward Glory Johnson who opted to depart for the WCBA in China.
That situation was then compounded by subsequent injuries to Natalia Vodopyanova and Marina Kuzina.
Dupree will have to hit the ground running with Nadezhda if they want to make it three wins in a row in EuroLeague Women, since Bourges haven't lost at home in 10 outings.
